You will be surprised by the story of Coca Cola, which has the title of being the most consumed soft drink in the world.
Coca-Cola's inventor was John S. Pemberton, who created its first formula in 1886. Pemberton, who served as a colonel and was wounded in the American Civil War, was addicted to morphine and was trying to find opium, although it was dangerous. Working as a chemist and pharmacist in Columbus, Pemperton thought of making cocaine wine. He invented Pemberton French Wine Coca in 1885 with his own specially developed formulas and blends. A year later, it launched its product, which consists of a mixture of cola extract, wine and coca leaf. But due to Atlanta laws, the cocaine leaf and alcohol used in the product became a problem. So forced to quit this job, John made a refreshing non-alcoholic syrup in a brass teapot on May 8, 1886, in Atlanta. He offered the syrup, which he mixed with carbonated water, to his friends. This new syrup was so popular that he offered it for sale in the garden of Pemberton pharmacy for 5 cents a glass. Pemberton's partner, Frank Robinson, named the product Coca-Cola and created Coca-Cola's logo that has remained unchanged to this day.
On May 29, 1886, the first Coca-Cola advertisement was published in The Atlanta Journal. The slogan used in the advertisement was “Delicious and Refreshing”. In 1888, 3 versions of Coca-Cola were being sold on the market, Pemberton and 4 businessmen: J. C. Mayfield, A.O. Murphey, C.O. Mullahy and E.H. A no-deal partnership had been formed by Bloodworth.
Pemperton died on August 16, 1888, and Asa Griggs Candler bought a third of Cahrley Pemberton's shares, 50 percent of Walker's shares, and the rights and prescription of Coca Cola for $2300 in 1891.
Coca-Cola, which is the most consumed soft drink in the world, was recognized as the most expensive brand in the world in 2005-2016, in the ranking of the international research agency Interbrand. Coca-Cola and various soft drink brands are owned by The Coca-Cola Company, a multinational corporation headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.The name of the brand is a combination of the names Kola nut, source of caffeine and coca leaves. Although the ingredients and chemical products used in Coca-Cola have been published, the formula of Coca-Cola has remained a trade secret to this day. Founded in 1886, the company's shares are traded on the New York Stock Exchange with the abbreviation KO. The company then manufactures licensed Coca-Cola products, bottling, filtered water, flavorings and concentrates in over 200 countries worldwide. The Coca-Cola Company also sells concentrates to large restaurant and foodservice distributors.
